My Studio. My Oasis. My Sanctuary.

I began oil painting in college as an experimental honors thesis project. I discovered a new part of myself and spent hours upon hours in my work space in the Boiler House - the art building at St. Francis University. When I moved to Lancaster in 2016, I knew I needed a studio space. If I was going to keep this part of myself alive, I needed to find a new Boiler House. I first tried to use a bedroom in my apartment, but that did not work. I needed a space which was separate from the rest of my life. In 2018, I discovered Mulberry Art Studios in downtown Lancaster, and my art journey began.

This is my favorite space in Lancaster. It is bright and colorful and rarely tidy - in my world, a clean studio is an unproductive studio. I take delight in being surrounded by my creations and projects, watching my walls fill with new paintings. Each piece teaches me something new about oil pain and about myself. Stepping into my studio always feels like coming home. As you peruse the photos below, you will glimpse a small piece of my heart.
